WJ Group offers extensive experience in both pumping tests for groundwater investigations and thermal response tests to determine thermal properties for closed-loop ground source energy systems.
At WJ, we provide vital testing services that help ensure the success of your groundwater or ground source energy projects. We offer two main types of testing:
These tests are essential for assessing hydrogeological conditions and often required for obtaining abstraction licenses. Traditional pumping tests are undertaken using a single pumped well and appropriate piezometer array. Test pumping and pilot trials may involve working on a small group of wells, ejector wells or wellpoint systems.
These tests are used to determine the thermal properties of the ground. They provide critical data for designing cost-effective closed-loop ground source systems. A small portable test rig injects heat energy into a closed loop test borehole, measuring incoming and outgoing temperatures of the heat transfer fluid, the flow rate of the fluid and the heat energy input.
With decades of experience undertaking tests globally from swamps in Nigeria to nuclear facilities in Scotland, WJ Group ensures all tests are carried out to the highest possible standards, whether for groundwater investigations or thermal system feasibility. Our comprehensive service includes test design, installation, and data analysis, providing insights through advanced reporting methods such as AGS, Excel, or graphical dashboards.
