WJ are one of the UK leading providers of pumping test services, something that can result in us working on some exciting and challenging projects. One of the most recent of these is for the new Silvertown Crossing in East London.
WJ undertook the pumping tests for the initial phase of works 2018 (see our Project Profile for more details), before we returned earlier this summer for the next phase of works – this time including pumping tests both on land and off-shore!
Over recent weeks off-shore pumping and monitoring wells have been installed by our main client for these works, Fugro, with WJ installing pumps to undertake tests in the Lower Mottled and Laminated Beds. All work was undertaken from a “jack-up” rig in the middle of the River Thames successfully.
The next phase of the pumping test is due to take place imminently, with on-shore wells drilled by Fugro, and pumping tests undertaken by WJ in the Laminated Beds, Upnor Formation and Lower Mottled Beds.
Well done to everyone involved, and we can’t wait to get cracking on the next phase of the works!
