Lower Thames Crossing

Since our formation in 1981 WJ have an outstanding record working on some of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in the UK, and in particular, in and around London. When it was announced that a new tunnel the River Thames was to be constructed, which would link Kent and Essex and help alleviate pressure on the Dartford Crossing, it was a project that at WJ we were keen to provide our experience and expertise on.

WJ are an industry leader in dewatering and groundwater management systems in the UK, and therefore our work regularly takes us from Central London to the northern reaches of Scotland and everywhere in between. One of our most recent projects took us to the shores of the world famous Loch Ness in the Highlands of Scotland for a ‘monster of a project’!

This contract took us to the heart of Suffolk, to aid with the construction of a new Tidal Barrier Gate for the River Orwell, to reduce the risk and impact of flooding to the coastal town of Ipswich.
